Bridging Cultures community event: July 8th, Pōneke Wellington

Tēnā koutou!

This Saturday on July the 8th, we will be holding the first hui of our Bridging Cultures project in Pōneke, Wellington.

This is an event for connecting ethnic and Pasifika communities with tangata whenua, in order to strengthen our community relationships and encourage collaboration.

Bridging Cultures is a free event that was conceived from the feedback of these communities describing their lack of connection with each other. We believe that connecting our communities is a critical part of anti-racism work, as building solidarity and sharing our knowledge and experiences promotes inclusion and belonging for the many different ethnicities that call Aotearoa home.

Kai will be provided, meaning you only need to bring yourself, your story, and an open mind.

While initially scheduled for July 1st in Porirua, due to circumstances we have had to shift the time and venue. Despite this, we have a great list of attendees and a beautiful new space for our day. We hope to see you there!

When: July 8th, 08:45 AM
Where: Pōneke, Wellington

Registrations close on Friday, so if you are interested in attending this hui then please reach out to [email protected] for a link to the registration or any further information.

Thank you to all our funders that make these important conversations and connections possible: The Tindall Foundation, TODD Foundation, Trust Waikato, Foundation North, Wellington Community Trust, and the Ministry for Social Development.
